No off-the-shelf solution:your strategy for your IVD's performance evaluation

A seminar explains the IVDR to you. This workshop answers the question that remains afterwards: what does it mean specifically for your product? Together with our expert, over one to two days you develop a performance evaluation strategy for an IVD of your choice – based on your own documentation, not on someone else's examples.

The problem

You know the IVDR. The question is what it means for your IVD.

A performance evaluation can't be copied from a template. Which performance parameters count, which you may justifiably leave out, which evidence the Notified Body expects – that depends on your intended purpose, your measurement principle and your data. It's exactly this step – translating the IVDR requirements onto your own product – where many teams get stuck.

General knowledge isn't enough: You know what the IVDR requires – but not which parameters are truly relevant for your product.
Testing too much costs money: Without a clear scope, teams plan studies that a sound rationale could have avoided.
Testing too little costs time: If evidence is missing, the gap comes back from the Notified Body at the latest.
Someone else's examples only help so much: A seminar shows other products. The questions about your IVD stay open.
The result? Months go by interpreting requirements – instead of producing the evidence that brings your IVD to market.

How the workshop works

From your documentation to first concepts

A clear process in four steps – prepared on your product, not on a textbook example.

1

Preparation

You provide your documentation – intended purpose, product description, state-of-the-art research and, where applicable, the instructions for use. Our expert studies your product beforehand.

2

Assess performance parameters

We clarify which analytical and clinical performance parameters are relevant for your IVD – under the IVDR and relevant guidance such as MDCG 2022-2 – and where non-applicability can be justified transparently.

3

Plan evidence & studies

We derive initial product-specific evidence strategies and plan selected performance studies based on relevant CLSI guidelines – including the key points for your test and study concepts.

4

Secure the next steps

You leave the workshop with open points, dependencies and clear next steps for your internal detailed planning. An optional follow-up session deepens the further study planning.

Workshop content

What we work on together

Every point starts from your product – from reviewing your documentation to first viable study concepts:

⚲

Review of your product documentation

We review the documentation you provide – intended purpose, product description, state-of-the-art research and, where applicable, the instructions for use.

Your benefit: The workshop starts from your product, not from scratch.

☰

Applicability of the performance parameters

We assess which regulatorily required performance parameters under the IVDR apply to your IVD, taking into account relevant guidance documents such as MDCG 2022-2.

Your benefit: You know what counts – and what doesn't.

✎

Justified non-applicability

Where a performance parameter doesn't apply to your product, we derive a traceable justification – structured, rather than simply left out.

Your benefit: Fewer items of evidence, soundly justified instead of riskily skipped.

⚖

Derive the evidence strategy

We develop initial product-specific evidence strategies for your IVD's analytical and clinical performance parameters.

Your benefit: A clear thread before study budgets are committed.

☑

Plan studies initially

We plan selected performance studies initially based on relevant CLSI guidelines and show which items of evidence can sensibly be combined.

Your benefit: First viable test and study concepts.

→

Open points & next steps

We capture open points, dependencies and the next steps for your in-house detailed planning.

Your benefit: Clarity on what your team can take forward the next working day.

↻

Optional: follow-up session

If needed, in an additional session we discuss your further developed study planning and resolve any remaining questions.

Your benefit: Depth exactly where you need it.

This workshop is right for you if …
✓you are responsible for performance evaluation, development or the laboratory.
✓you know the basics of performance evaluation and now want to apply them to your product.
✓you want to develop the strategy and first study concepts yourself – with expert guidance instead of a ready-made template.

Frequently asked questions

Answers before you ask

What makes the workshop different from a seminar?›
A seminar teaches the basics of performance evaluation in general and through examples. This workshop works on your specific IVD: we apply the requirements to your product and develop a product-specific strategy. We assume basic knowledge.
And how is it different from having the performance evaluation created for you?›
In the workshop you develop the strategy yourself – with our expert guidance. The detailed development and implementation stay with you. If you'd rather hand over creating the complete performance evaluation, our IVDR performance evaluation service takes that on. There too, you carry out the performance studies yourselves; before and after, we support you with the documentation.
How many products does the workshop cover?›
One IVD of your choice. Focusing on one specific product makes the results concrete and directly usable – rather than staying general.
What should participants bring with them?›
The workshop is not an introductory seminar. It assumes that the basic principles of performance evaluation are familiar. If that knowledge is still missing, we recommend our compact seminar “Performance Evaluation of In-vitro Diagnostics” beforehand.
What do we need to prepare?›
You provide your product documentation in advance – e.g. intended purpose, product description, state-of-the-art research and, where applicable, the instructions for use. Our expert uses these to study your product so the workshop starts directly on your IVD.
How long does the workshop take and how many can attend?›
Usually one to two days, with a maximum of 10 participants from your team. We agree the exact scope – duration, participant group and focus areas – in the introductory call.
What does the workshop cost?›
The price depends on the product, the data situation and the scope – there's no flat fixed price for it. After a short introductory call, you receive a quote that fits your IVD.
What happens with the results?›
You take away the product-specific strategy, first study concepts and clear next steps. The detailed development and in-house implementation are yours. If needed, an optional follow-up session deepens the further study planning.
