Your Customized In-House Seminar

In some situations, booking one of our seminars in-house may be useful. All of our seminars can also be customized as in-house seminars. Depending on your needs, these can be held online or at your premises.

We particularly recommend an in-house seminar if you:

  • are a larger group
  • want to tailor the focus precisely to your needs
  • want company- and situation-specific presentations, workshops, and exercises
  • want a mix of training and consulting
  • want to discuss confidential topics

Get in touch with us right away to request a suitable in-house seminar.

FAQ: Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about our Seminars

Will I receive a certificate of attendance for participating in the seminar?

You will receive a certificate of attendance for participating in all of our seminars, courses, and workshops. It will be sent to you by email after the event.

How long do the online seminars last?

Like the in-person seminars, the online seminars start at 9:00 AM and end at approximately 5:00 PM. However, the lecturers are usually available for longer, including answering individual questions.

For online seminars, please dial in 15 minutes early so that we can test the technology.

As with in-person seminars, we will take regular breaks.

Can I participate with several people on one computer?

To address individuals and have flexibility in dividing groups, we prefer that each participant dial in with their own computer.

How many people can participate in an online seminar?

As with the in-person seminars, we limit the number of participants to 16.

This allows us to ensure that:

  • each participant can ask their specific questions and receive answers,
  • the exercises are supervised just as intensively as in in-person seminars, and
  • targeted discussions within the group are possible.
How can participants successfully exchange ideas online?

As with a face-to-face seminar, all participants know who is present and who is asking which questions. This allows everyone to respond to each other. The lecturers do not block the participants' microphones.

In addition, we leave the web conference platform open during breaks to allow for exchange even without the lecturer's participation.

Should I turn the camera on or off?

We kindly ask you to leave your camera on during the online seminars.

There are several reasons for this:

  • The event will be more lively.
  • You will follow the seminar more attentively.
  • Our lecturers will not sit in front of a black screen all day.
  • Our lecturers will be able to respond to questioning faces and enjoy seeing smiling faces.
  • We create a seminar atmosphere in which you can interact with other seminar participants, creating a sense of togetherness.
  • Seeing other people will also make the day more enjoyable for you.

In addition, you can signal that you are present or absent by turning your camera on or off. When the camera is off, everyone knows you are not available at the moment, and no one waits in vain for your response. However, this also means that you are less integrated into the seminar.

Can I use education vouchers for the seminars?

As we don't have AZAV certification, we cannot accept education vouchers/AVGS.

What technical requirements do I need to meet?

Our online seminars usually take place via Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams can be used on Mac, Windows, and Linux systems, with some restrictions on browsers and mobile phones. The technical requirements for using Microsoft Teams can be found here.

Recommended technology:

  • Headset with microphone
  • Webcam
  • Tablet for digital notes, if necessary
May I record the seminar on video?

Recording of the seminar is not permitted. Thank you for your understanding.

Do I need to prepare for an online seminar?

We will send you the access data (usually in the form of a link) at least one day in advance. You can then check the technology yourself.

When should I dial in for an online seminar?

Please go online at least 15 minutes before the seminar starts so that you can check your connection and technology (audio, video).

Our lecturers will then also have the opportunity to welcome you personally and give you final instructions on how to use the web conference tool.

What is the schedule for a seminar?

Seminars usually start promptly at 9:00 AM. The seminar usually ends at around 5:00 PM.

We take a break approximately every 90 minutes. The morning and afternoon breaks last 15 minutes. You can arrange the length of the lunch break with the lecturer. The usual length is 45 to 60 minutes.

Can I ask questions and contribute during the seminar?

Feel free to actively participate. Ask questions and express your expectations.

Your lecturer will coordinate with the group on how to best make yourself heard during the seminar (e.g., by raising your hand, turning on your microphone, asking questions directly, or using the chat function).

What are the payment terms for the seminars?

Please refer to the terms and conditions for our seminars for payment terms.

Feedback of our Customers

CPMS course very well structured, from basics to more complex topics. Interesting topics and good overview of medical technology. Very professional and clearly based on extensive experience!
Daniel Werner, Oertli Instrumente AG
Thank you very much for two intensive and informative days of the “Internal Auditor” seminar, for the challenge, and the humor. The content and methods taught could be applied and tried out right away in the seminar. Very constructive feedback during the seminar, which encouraged all participants. The Johner Institute offered exactly what I was looking for. Grade A with a star.
Monika Schwarzhuber, medesign I.C. GmbH
Very successful training! For me, it was an ideal combination of refreshing my knowledge of ISO 14971, practical implementation tips, and helpful exchanges with others. Particularly valuable: the confirmation that my previous understanding is on the right track – this gives me certainty in my everyday work.
Matthias Kramer, Maquet Cardiopulmonary GmbH
Very professional and interactive training. All participants' questions were addressed, and even questions about quality and peripheral topics were answered extremely competently and illustrated with clear examples. Complex interrelationships were explained in an understandable way and in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition, the seminar was extremely well structured.
Ilka Gruhler, Eurofins Genomics Europe Pharma and Diagnostics Products & Services Synthesis GmbH
The seminar on literature research, state of the art, and scientific validity was extremely informative and practical. The concrete examples and interactive format made it much easier to understand. The training was very helpful and we were able to take away many valuable insights.
Dr. Vera Allerheiligen, Hain Lifescience GmbH
Thank you very much for the seminar on IT security for medical devices and IEC 81001-5-1. The learning atmosphere you created and your teaching methods contributed significantly to the positive learning outcome. I would like to thank you for your excellent work. I would have liked to have taken part in your courses much earlier, but unfortunately I was unable to do so due to a lack of permission.
Daniel Zandi, Universitätsklinik Bonn
Our one-day in-house seminar “IVDR for Medical Laboratories” was extremely successful. The technical content was presented clearly and comprehensively and conveyed in a surprisingly entertaining way. The efficiency and precision of the arrangements made with the seminar leader in advance deserve special mention. In addition, the content could be tailored to our company’s specific goals. All in all, a highly recommended event!
Thomas Schäfer, DKMS Life Science Lab gGmbH
I'm so glad the Johner Institute exists! Outstanding expertise, excellent organization, very friendly team. For me, the Johner Institute is a guide/compass in the endless ocean of the medical device world. Thanks to the publicly available specialist publications and the podcast, I always find a competent answer to the questions that arise from time to time in my daily work.
Dr. Shahbazian-Karaca Anaid Dürr, Dental SE
Once again, it was a very good and competent consultation with practical relevance. The experience that other participants bring to the table is also always helpful.
Axel Koch, Storz Medical AG
Speaker with outstanding expertise. Exciting presentation/ seminar, no boredom. Very well prepared and very good presentation of the content. Highly recommended!
Doris Krist, RECIPE Chemicals + Instruments GmbH
Excellent seminar with lots of practical relevance and many examples; the small group of participants was very pleasant and ideal for asking questions.
Dr. Brigitte Lindner, Hamilton Medical AG
Very competent, structured, and lively presentation of the important content of the MDR with many practical references.
Dr. Stefan Winkler, German Medical Engineering GmbH
I really liked the structure of the meetings and the time allocated for implementation. It was also good that we were able to work on our own product at the same time. For me, the effectiveness check was the DQS audit in December. The clinical evaluation was discussed and the comments (no deviations yet) could be “corrected” immediately when the “old” CERs were compared with the “new” ones. The documented, detailed literature research is extremely important, especially for our orthodontic devices, as we apply Article 61 Section 6b. However, the structured literature research also supports the PMS complex and the argumentation as to whether a change to the device is significant or not. All in all, the course has prevented deviations and provided arguments whenever clinical data has been an issue during audits.
Christian Burgard, FORESTADENT
The competence and flexibility of the lecturers who led the seminar were very impressive. Personal questions were addressed excellently and the topics were answered in depth.
Dr. Sibylle Heinig, BioScience GmbH
No passive learning, but active participation and auditing of various "opponents" in role-playing exercises made this training course one of the best I have ever attended on the subject of internal auditing.
Team Quality, Carl Zeiss Microscopy
The seminar is characterized by its concise interactive design, which alternates between knowledge transfer and application-oriented tasks. In particular, literature research, selection, and evaluation are covered in detail, and efficient and goal-oriented procedures and methods are taught. Key regulatory requirements and associated guidelines are discussed and their interdependencies are explained in a clear and concise manner.
Dr. Miriam Heine, FUJFILM medwork GmbH
Yesterday, after only one round of corrections (with really harmless complaints) from our notified body, we received the positive audit report for our clinical evaluation. We are overjoyed to have completed this major step toward MDR certification. I would like to thank you again for the really excellent seminar in February 2022! It had the desired effect :) And as a former scientist/ biologist, I really enjoyed being able to do some scientific work again with the clinical evaluation.
Robert Friedrich, COPRA System GmbH
Many thanks again for the incredible fast training customization and preparation. Great introduction to the topic with a lot of hands on tips
Alexander Rügner, Diabetes Care Mannheim
Thank you once again for your presentation over the last two days. It was clear that you not only know the subject matter from a theoretical point of view, but also have personal experience in various methodological areas! Thank you also for the templates for the performance evaluation plan and systematic literature search. Such documents are very valuable to me for creating my own documents.
Werner Klotz, Universitätsklinik für innere Medizin II
The supposedly dry topic of “auditing” was turned into a successful, engaging two-day training course thanks to a mix of necessary theory, various role-plays, and a very competent trainer. There was also plenty of opportunity for the trainer and participants to exchange experiences, so that both “old hands” and new, aspiring auditors were able to take something away from the training.
Team Quality, Carl Zeiss Microscopy
In my opinion, this was a very realistic training course with practical relevance, which I can take a lot from for my activities. The mostly dry content was presented in a very relaxed and varied manner. I found it very respectful that you always listened actively and allowed the training participants to finish speaking or let them speak first. You also responded to every comment made by the training participants in a very appreciative manner, which I found particularly helpful when I felt unsure.
Danilo Prinz, Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH
The “Internal Auditor” seminar, which my colleague and I attended in January 2023, has brought us a whole step closer to ISO 13485 certification. Thanks to wonderfully prepared group exercises, combined with varied technical input and intensive discussion opportunities with colleagues from other industries, we are now looking forward to our first internal audit with greater confidence: a clear audit plan and an initial idea for our audit programme have emerged from what was previously a dense fog. Once again, we have seen that a seminar can only be lively if the speakers are well prepared, are not only technical experts, but are also willing to work with the participants and involve them in the topics.
Anja Schmidt, ePA-CC GmbH
The seminar provides important tools for planning, conducting, and evaluating an internal audit. There is plenty of room for technical discussions with other participants and the instructor. I liked the practical blocks best, as they allow you to consolidate what you have learned. It's great when you can say after a two-day seminar that you enjoyed it and learned a lot. Although I already had some prior knowledge, the seminar was very interesting.
Anne Schelling, NanoRepro AG
The seminar was excellent. The lecturer taught the material in a very pleasant and educational manner. There were many practical exercises. It was actually quite enjoyable!
Marta Albis Camps, imusyn GmbH & Co. KG
I found the training well structured and informative. I particularly liked the fact that you took a short break every hour, which refreshed my ability to absorb information. I also appreciated that you allowed many questions and always answered them in a comprehensible manner. I also found it very good that you often referred directly to the literal wording of the standard, leaving no room for subjective interpretation.
Danilo Prinz, Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH
